PSA Ideas

For my capstone project, I will be focusing on hand hygiene. As my final product, I will be installing hand sanitizer dispensers in the Sunday School classrooms at my church, St. Philopateer Coptic Orthodox Church.

Because my PSA will be focusing on hand washing, I have been watching several YouTube videos that are PSAs in order to get ideas for my video.
Here are a few that I watched:
While most of these were very well created and put together,  I found them to be mostly pretty cheesy.
I want to present my best work for my final Capstone project, so I am aiming to make my hand washing PSA video to be more modern and relatable to any age that watches. I have to keep in mind all ages because my audience ranges from younger children to parents and maybe even school nurses or educators who are looking for a hand washing educational video.

In the first video, I really liked that they presented facts to the audience. It was clear cut and straight to the point. It was a little plain, however, I definitely want to include facts in my video.

In the second video, I liked that it wasn't too long or too short. It kept my attention the entire time and especially in the end, it left a very bold message for the viewers. I want my video to capture my audience's attention the whole time, so that is a big factor I take from this video.

Lastly, in the third video, the boy rapping really related to kids his age; high schoolers. Because this video was posted 2 years ago, I believe it wouldn't interest children as much anymore, because he appears to be dressed and rapping differently than how things are in today's pop culture. However, I thought they did a phenomenal job with the special effects in the background, and that is something I want to add in my video to make it interesting to the audience.

My video will probably not have any actors like the 3 videos above. I hope to use a good video editing software and work with special effects to include pictures, sound and most importantly, the text. I hope to make the text look cool in the video, since that is what will stick to the viewers.
